Remembering

It's right at this point (my 300th post!!!) that I'm having a hard time rememberings which quotes I've used in my posts.  So, yesterday I wasted hours of time at work catalogued my quotes because I'm a nerd like that.

It took a lot longer than it really should have because I found myself reading a lot of my old posts.

The first thing I noticed is that my life tends to go through cycles.  For example, each year I tend to get the winter blues.

The other thing I noticed is that (once I'm done being sad) I do a pretty good job of focusing on the positive and on what really matters.

At various points during my blogging, I've recognized some people who really warmed my heart.  One group in particular is the parents I've met through youth sports.

So, I found it ironic (in a super fantastic way) that last night when I posted on Facebook "We have registered for Spring ball.  We had such a great experience last spring, I can't wait!" that I received these comments:
I also considered it an indication that I need to continue to do what I know works.

Odds are, I'm going to get the winter blues.  But, I will beat them.  And, I will continue to do so by recognizing and remembering all the people who bring such joy to my world in big and small ways.

I think you're gonna remember about today what you want to remember. Like, at my wedding, I remember it as the day I got to kiss the most beautiful woman in the world. And I hope that's how she remembers it too, as a good day. The start of a lot of good memories. We completely blocked out the part where Ma was holding onto my leg yelling, "Don't go! Don't go!"
